Georgia Niblock

Decorating for the Christmas season doesn’t have to be elaborate or expensive to be pretty. Upcycled thrifted finds are a beautiful way to incorporate a personal touch into your holiday home!

Open frames are so versatile and easy to upcycle! Large or small, they can be transformed into a beautiful work of art! A few simple ornaments and greenery have transformed this large frame into a Christmas beauty!

To create this easy diy, you will need an open frame, ornaments, fishing line, ribbon, and greenery. The number of ornaments required for this project will be based on your frame size and personal preference.

Instructions:

Step 1: String and knot a piece of fishing line through the top of each ornament. Cut the fishing line based on how long you want the ornament to hang.

Step 2: Tie and knot each ornament to the top of the frame, as shown. You can easily stagger the ornaments by tying the fishing line at different lengths and trimming off the excess line after it has been knotted.

Step 3: for an extra festive touch, add a touch of greenery to your frame. This can be done by simply securing the greenery with ribbon. If you find the ribbon will not securely hold your greenery in place, try attaching it to the frame with floral wire; then add the ribbon for a pretty touch!

That’s it! Your beautifully framed Christmas ornaments can easily be displayed on a wall, a mantle, or even a shelf. Once the holiday season is over, simply cut the fishing line, and remove your ornaments! It’s that easy! Happy Holidays!
