In addition to having a beautiful historic farmhouse, Jessica Wasserman runs Lyn Marie’s Coffee shop with her sister, Stephanie Van Fleet.
For the holiday season, the sisters, add red and white décor to their shop’s green and pink color scheme. “We try to decorate with things that make sense in a coffee shop, like coffee cups and peppermint ornaments,” Jessica says. “We use a lot of peppermint in our drinks, so it ties in with the theme.”

As for their holiday-coffee creations, the shop serves specialty flavors, including peppermint, orange, pomegranate, eggnog and gingerbread during this festive time. Creatively named drinks, like the “Rudolph Mocha,” are hallmarks of the shop and truly hone in on the holiday magic.

Holiday décor plays up the cozy, down-to-earth atmosphere at Lyn Marie’s Coffee, but about 10 years ago the shop was only a dream. When their dad purchased the historic property, which was once a hotel that hosted Abraham Lincoln, the sisters came up with the idea to open a coffee shop.
“Now, people come from all over to visit our shop because we offer something that their town doesn’t,” Jessica adds. “I think that’s so cool, because we’re just little Monroeville,” a small town in Ohio, filled with history, heart and holiday cheer.
